Your Privacy Rights
California law recognizes that personal information belongs, in a meaningful sense, to the individual it describes. On that basis, you may require The Ordinary to refrain from selling your information and from sharing it for targeted advertising purposes. We also honor your related rights to know, to delete, and to correct, and we will never penalize you for choosing to use them.
Information We Collect
As is typical for an e-commerce site, we collect identifiers, commercial information, and internet activity. Identifiers include the name and address you supply; commercial information includes what you buy and how much you spend; and internet activity includes cookie data, device details, and browsing behavior across our pages. The last of these can constitute sharing under privacy law when it is used for cross-context advertising.
We Do Not Sell Your Information
We want to be unambiguous: The Ordinary is not in the business of selling customer data. Your name, contact details, and purchase history are used to serve you, not to generate revenue through sale to data brokers or unrelated third parties. The limited data sharing that may occur is confined to advertising and analytics partners and is fully subject to the opt-out described on this page.
How to Opt Out
To opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, you can use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link located in the footer of every page on jyjsmk-fy.myshopify.com. Selecting it records your preference and disables the advertising and analytics cookies associated with sharing. The setting is applied to the browser and device you are using, so you may need to repeat it if you switch devices or clear your cookies.
How to Submit a Request
When you contact The Ordinary with a privacy request, help us help you by being specific. Note the type of request, the personal information involved if you know it, and the email address on file at jyjsmk-fy.myshopify.com.
Verifying Your Identity
We calibrate our verification to the request. Opting out demands no proof of identity and takes effect immediately. Asking to see, correct, or delete your personal information triggers a verification step in which The Ordinary confirms that the requester's details align with the account on file at jyjsmk-fy.myshopify.com, declining only when a reasonable match cannot be established.
Response Timeframes
The Ordinary follows the response deadlines set out in California privacy law. That means confirming receipt of your request in short order and delivering a substantive response within forty-five days. If we need longer because your request is complicated or you have made several requests, we will notify you and complete our work within ninety days at most.
